OK so I missed my cut off from my last post to start blogging again, but SHOOOOOOCKING things didn’t go as planned or for once in our favor..it’s cool, like we’d catch a break. ANYWAYS…I need to blog this crap.

God damn…I did this today for like 14 minutes and could have easily died/fell off the treadmill twice. Basically (or at least what I did) you sprint at 90% for 60 seconds, then jog at 50-55% for 90 seconds…Wowzers.

So for me I sprinted at 8.7 and then jogged at 5.7…

Interval One- Piece.Of .Cake
Interval Two- “Yikes, time to sprint again??”
Interval Three- “Woah that was a quick 60 seconds/jog-DAMN IT”
Interval Four-”Damn feet don’t fail me now!”
Interval Five- “Yes it still counts if you hold on to the treadmill”
Interval Six- “Jesus, I’m jogging and my HR is at 175!!..fuuuuu*k”
Interval Seven- “Damn, so sweaty please don’t slip Jen”

I had to stop there and just ran a cool down mile..embarrassingly Interval Six and Seven MAY have had me jogging at 70secs..but honestly I did sprint every time for the 90 seconds it’s just the recovery that gets ya! Which shocked me. I’ve always prided myself in the ability to get my heart rate so low and recover so fast well-H.I.I.T definitely sparked it’s interest-and got me to burn 524 calories in 30 minutes…SCORE!

We shall see how long I stick with this…I do kind of want to do it again, today.

Yep I’m still here….LOTS have been happened in the last few weeks…sadly it hasn’t been blogging. My bad…I know I know. But give me ummm 5 more days and I’ll be back…

I can stop biting my tongue, stop private-ing my business and maybe get back to my life instead of worrying about how others are perceiving this/me/my life. Or hell better yet everyone- JUST MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIVES.
If you don’t like me stop creeping on my blog/facebook/twitter-DUUUUUUUUH.

Oh yes your favorite!!!! More random, useless information about yours truly!!!!

I have no Thyroid gland. Well I do but it's IN-ACTIVE. Voluntarily...well sorta. 
About 14 years ago (WOW I can't believe it's been that long. Time sure does fly) I was diagnosed
with Hyperthyroidism. What?!?!  Hyper-me? NO, NEVER!    I was personally OK with it, I didn't
gain weight, had little to no period and had the energy like a drugged up race horse. But ::sigh::
that came to an end thanks to radio active iodine.  Long story short for a full 24 hours I was
radio active and I remember pretending I had super powers. So yea no thyroid gland and no super powers.
Pretty cool huh?  Not. At. All.
I know-whateves. But on the plus side-still get very little to no period (sorry gals I'm just THAT lucky).
But ehhh-that doesn't really matter I have to take synthroid for the rest of my life and I'm horrible at
taking medicine (you'd think after so long I'd start to remember, umm nope). Plus my body is a human ice
block all the time, pretty much no body circulation and the chances of me carrying a baby (down the far
far road off in the distant) full term and healthy are slim to none. Boo.

So umm anyone wanna trade??  I'll even throw in thin, fine hair and big bulgy (but blue!) eyes!

Weekend Update.

Oh boy-what a weekend. My last one in the city. Bittersweet but believe it or not what a perfect one at that. Let me paint you a picture….
-Ahh screw that I suck at painting…

Let’s just say I did the worst things possible based on the ever so cooperative Chicago spring weather. Remember last WEEK’s weather..you know-THIS gorgeousness!?-Yea I know I remember it too..IT. WAS. GREAT! I really had fallen for it, thinking we were at the “lamb” part of March-guess not. Obviously someone (or someones-Ha,wonder who?!?! losers) is out to get me because they got in touch with good Old Mother Nature just in time for the weekend-cashed in a favor and out came this..Thanks again. Soooo great Saturday came, complete with crappy cold, rainy and snowy weather. And what better activity to do on a day like that?! MOVE!!!!! Yes it’s true, I packed the last 9 months of my life up, threw it all on truck and hauled it back to the burbs where it all sits nicely “climate controlled” in a storage unit waiting to be sold….any takers?? (honestly-I don’t want it, nor will I need it)And all day long I fought back tears, as I looked outside and saw the sight of what a December’s day would look like and thought “crap tomorrow is gonna suck, I might just die” but I pushed it to the back burner and kept moving (literally). So a long, rough,physical 10 plus hour day complete with a nice dinner with the family (BIG step for some!!! ) came to an end around 11. With only pillows, a crap ton of comforters and the city lights keeping everyone company the ZZZZ’s took over.

Sunday came and I was up like an 8 year old on Christmas morning, ran to the window to see what Mother Nature had left me and BAM-No Rain.No Snow. Just clouds, I’LL TAKE IT!!!! Why so happy you ask!??!

Well it’s was SHAMROCK SHUFFLE DAY!!!! Woot. Woot. I was pumped and ready to go….with half a protein bar in my tummy and a great running buddy we made our way through the semi still wet streets of downtown Chicago. Holy Hell-it was cold as F**K but pretty good running weather. I’m EH on my time…without having ran the Shuffle in over two years I was just aiming for 50 minutes or under…well my slow ass couldn’t even do that. Granted I hung back and enjoyed my running company till the 5K mark and then just bolted it.

Official time: 52:42. Blah…whatever yea I know that’s almost 10:30 a mile-Fail. But I’m ok with that I guess…I know I could have gone faster and that is all I cared about. It only means I’m gonna smoke the crew I’ve gotten together for Race To Wrigley (Growing rapidly by the day-like anyone WOULDN’T want to hang with me?? Gosh sometimes it’s rough being so amazing.)

What a weekend! Actually resting and relaxing for the first time Sunday afternoon it was well worth the run around. Only gaining progress and stability. Something we all deserve it this crazy mixed up world we call life. Just remember keep the things you love the ones you love and the ones that love you near by…everything and everyone else just fades away. <3

Never had: Corned Beef or Sauerkraut and up until Monday night I’d never had Stove Top Stuffing.
Never seen: Lost Boys, License to Drive, Goonies, none of the Beverly Hills Cop movies, Caddyshack, Die Hard, Fatal Attraction or Pulp Fiction. I do not remember Back to the Future, ET or Terminator but I know I’ve seen them. I have however seen Dirty Dancing at least 34 times. I want to be Baby.

S000 ::sigh:: I am no longer running everyday (FAIL). In fact after my goal to run everyday for a year (DOUBLE FAIL) left me limping after 74 days so I had to stop. I even took almost three weeks off (advice from the sports doc) which was no fun, I do not deal with defeat easily or at all.
But GOOD NEWS!!!-I am back at it! Running 4 to 5 times a week…WITH NO PAIN! Not only am I running with no pain (fingers crossed it continues) but I’m finally overcoming my 24-28 minute “Jen gets really bored mark”! In fact for the first time ever I ran 6.25 miles continuously! Granted I haven’t done it since but still, IT SO COUNTS. So in honor of my sorta kinda awesomeness I went nuts and signed up for some races.

Shamrock Shuffle-March 21st (sorry it’s full) AND I’m running it ALONE (which scares the crap out of me MORE than the 5 mile run it self-UGH.) But thanks slackers, I thought High School was over and I wasn’t going to get ditched anymore Soooo anyone else running it so I can stalk and let you hold my hand so I don’t get lost?!?! The course literally just misses my condo along Michigan Avenue which I’m kinda bummed about but least I can get dragged or crawl home easier…(this WILL happen)

Race to Wrigley-April 24th (not full yet, so COME ON!) It’s a 5K…PIECE OF CAKE!! Aiming for 30mins and to beat Mick and/or Ellen and her friends….actually just Mick. I have been informed there is a bar crawl/just beers afterwards so um why not run super fast and get into the bars by8:30!??! DONE.

Soldier Field 10- May 29 (not full either, but be warned its 10 MILES not a 10K-ah hell) I was convinced from a spin member to run it with her and well now I’m screwed..I get antsy IN A CAR at 10 miles. IT IS Solider Field though which I’ve never been to yet sorta live across the street from.

And for the finale…..

The 13.1 -June 13th (will sign up next month, I promise Dave) Where the party meets the pavement!! How awesome of a series is this!!??! Plus Chicago has the BLUES theme…but ::::sigh::: this would be a HALF MARATHON! Holy hell, who am I!? Ohh just a girl that likes a challenge. (Ha, way too true) But a good friend of mine started running a few months ago and if he can do it, so can I!

I guess I have to give credit to where it is deserved, I never thought I’d be a runner or fake being one with the activities planned up above but well it all started from my post “Next Up!” and well ummm I’m going to swallow my pride and thank Mick for this crazy idea. Um thanks. I umm owe you one. Oh and PS-thanks for ditching out on me for the Shuffle, love you too. I will just count you out for Wrigley too, oh wait some how I think you’ll manage to sign up for that one. OH SNAP. And yes I did just call you out. (my nice moment was over minutes ago-sucker)
